Amanda Farnsworth is a senior executive who has been entrusted with some of the most high profile leadership roles in the BBC including Editor of the TV One and Six O Clock News, Deputy Editor, Newsnight and Bureau Chief in Washington DC. She has a wide range of editorial experience, including News, Sport and Digital Media both in the UK and abroad.
Additionally, she has experience of leading large teams in the highly pressurised setting of live broadcasting such as the London Bombings in July 2005.

Amanda played a key role in developing BBC strategy and seeing it implemented across a broad range of policy areas. Amanda is a member of the BBC 2012 Steering Group and chairs the BBC 2012 Paralympic Steering Group. She successfully developed matrix management processes across the BBC in the London 2012 Project and played a leading role in developing some of the BBC’s key external partnerships around the London 2012 Olympics, most importantly the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG).
