Miguel Castro works for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation since 2011.  He helps define and manage the foundation’s strategic partnerships and media grant-making global portfolio. Prior to this, Miguel was special projects manager at the Open Society Media Program, where he spent eight years learning the media grant making trade from the very best. A journalist by training and education, Castro has worked as a radio, print, and ENG reporter, and was press secretary to a senior public official. He has also worked as a professional photographer in the United States.
