The Editors Lab Final is innovation in real time. The Editors Lab programme is a series of hackdays for newsroom innovation. The 2014-2015 season is hosted by major newsrooms in Berlin, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Lagos, London, Madrid, New York, Paris and more.
In Barcelona, the teams will have 48 hours to develop an innovative journalism service or application. In the same format as regional hackdays, each newsroom team will have one journalist, one designer, and one developer.
Do you want to discover the freshest innovation? On the last day of the event, all Summit participants will have the opportunity to discover the best prototypes developed over the course of the GEN Summit. You can't get newer than that!

Startups for News is an international competition rewarding the most innovative startups disrupting the media industry. GEN is hunting for the startups that challenge the status quo with new editorial services for newsrooms or new ways of delivering journalistic content.
With this programme, GEN is helping create interaction between startup innovators and media senior executives and thus encouraging the implementation of innovative practices in the newsroom.
